Gorgeous antique porcelain figurine of a muse leaning on a column while strumming her lyre. The green of her dress contrasts well with the bone white of her body.

The quality of the craftsmanship which we observe stands head to head with the finest productions of the German porcelain legends. Note the attention to detail that is so characteristic of the German masters, from the expression on the lady's face to the marbling effect produced on the column upon which she leans.

Marked to Volkstedt porcelain manufactory, and fashioned under the purview of Triebner Ens & Eckert, the founders of the factory.. Known as the Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur, the "Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory", this was the first porcelain manufactory in Thuringia, Germany, originating in the 1760s. This piece dates to the late 19th century, 1877 - 1894.
