1860’s silverplate 4 piece tea and coffee set with nut finials and embossed flowers

£200.00
Sold

Stunning mid-Victorian silver plated four-piece tea and coffee service comprising a coffeepot, teapot, milk jug and two-handled sugar bowl. Round baluster bodies are raised on cast acanthus feet. The two pots have swan-neck leaf capped spouts and ornate figural nut finials to domed lids that rest on applied foliage.

The panelled bodies are engraved with a trellis and beaded design and embossed with oval medallions that depict floral bouquets. The flowers alternate with plain cartouches that are free from any monograms and can be engraved as a present.

Fantastic set in wonderful condition with clean interiors, that make this a functional tea set, as well as a highly decorative example of Victorian craftsmanship.

A similar service is offered for sale in the 1868 John Nodder advertisement.
